Timeworn feat. Steampunk

Hello my crafty friends

My favorite technique goes steampunk....that's what the challenge at SanDee & Amelie is asking for this month.

Well, my dressform was a long time in the of my ufo's ( un - finished - object) so to speak

The base already started some day 2013, after i bought papermache dressform which is coverd with cling film and newspaper in the picture below.

You need a lot layers to build up a sturdy dressform and i used newspaper, cheesecloth and tissue paper alternately with Mod Podge. I also incorporated Magic Mesh to build up the dressform a bit higher

 ..of layers....

...of layers....

You have to trust your gut instincts to stop and ...let dry 12 hours

Cut open at the middle of the back....

...take out the cling film...

... and glue down more layers to close the back again...and let dry another 12 hours

Next..i fiddled on some chicken wire....

...and applied DecoArt Modeling Paste...

..and i stamped into the paste, too

Below you see the different size of the original and the new creation

The next day, i've painted the dressform with DecoArt Traditions burnt umber acrylic paint....

after that was dry....some spots of vaseline....

...and more painting with DecoArt acrylic paint sea aqua....let dry...

Wipe of the vaseline spots..

..and brush on a wash of DecoArt Traditions Quinacridone Gold

Embellished with rusty wire, gears and so on..

I hope you feel inspired (:o)

Happy weekend

Spring Flowers

Jennie is hosting the new challenge at A Vintage Journey and her chosen theme is *Spring Flowers*

I don't own any flower die, so i had a go with fuzzy cutting and i stopped counting somewhere at 90 flowers. Yes, patience was needed (:o)

I started with two empty rolls

Glued together with double sided tape

Recycled corrugated cardboard

Tim Holtz paper of course

The trellis frame work die again.

Verdigris embossing powder

I hope you had fun watching my version of spring flowers

Thanks for your apprecitated comments
