Happy 1st May (:o)
The new may theme for SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge is *Heavy Metal*
My creation for this challenge is a little book box i've created a while ago as i was playing with
DecoArt Modeling Paste.
I often stamp into the Modeling Paste, but in this case i had a play with an embossing folder
I applyed a thin layer of Modeling Paste and i've let this set for a couple of minutes. Then i pressed the embossing folder into the paste. Actually i received a better texture result as with stamping (:o) I still have to practice...
The halfpearls and some leftover bolts from an Tando book cover kit where stuck into the wet paste.
The Spellbinders Media Mixage Bezel *Shields* was glued on after everything was dry
I then painted a layer of black acrylic paint followed by drybrushing silver paint
For some rust effects, i used the iron paint from TenSecondsStudio and the patina solution
Finished with drybrushing silver paint again and sealed with Duraclear Matt Varnish
The bezel is filled with an image i've cut with the corresponding *shields*die also as the mica tile which i've glued on top with glossy accents.
I hope you feel inspired to try some new techniques
Thanks for your appreciated comments
