Take It - Make It

Good day to you (:o)

Challenge six is about the ombré technique, Sylvia Blum is showing in the current CraftStamper january issue on pages 6 - 8. Read all about the guidelines here.
There is plenty of time to enter your card, layout or 3D item ( any theme or colour as long as it features the ombre technique and some real stamping), till midnight Friday Februar 7th 2014

My entry is another Home Decor
I mentioned earlyer, that i'm in the blue mood this year (:o)

To explain this decor, i have to show you the first finished results first

Step by step

I started with the glass ornaments
It's important to clean the surface with alcohol before painting

I used Americana Frost Gloss Enamels from DecoArt

I started with white and dabbed on the paint with a sponge

After a drytime of 20 minutes, i dabbed on the next colour ( turquoise)

...and finished with blue

Next was this white, flat bowl
Cleaned with alcohol first and dabbed on the white colour onto the hole bowl

When the white paint was dry ( you see the shine is gone) i started with dabbing the darkest colour on the bottom

At this stage i realized, this bowl will need a lot layers .....

..and i changed my mind and used a brush for the next layers

The outside is cleaned with alcohol and painted, too

For the finished layer, i dabbed on the white glass paint with a sponge on top again

The instructions says:

Let dry 4 days

Next...i figured out how to decorate it...

I don't wanted to comlicate the stamping part....( my first thought was to stamp some snow flakes on tissue and adhering the tissue to the glass ornaments) because i want to use the glass ornaments as a flower vase in the summer, too ( imagine some sand and sea shells?) You'll see.....

I distressed the ombré part and stamped two small white tags

Stamped and silver heat embossed snow flakes

Hope you like my ombré inspiration
This month you can win Art Journaling DVD's by Kate Crane and don't forget, the winner get's published!!
My winning entry from challenge four is published on page 61 of the january issue. A big thank you to the DT again, for choosing me (:o)
That could be you, too!

Hope the holidays bring you millions of reasons to smile
Merry Christmas!

Thanks for your appreciated comments

Polished Packaging Paper

Hi crafters! Last weekend before christmas. Time to wrap the last gifts if you didn't already. I've used brown packaging paper for some gift bags. Simple folding and stamping are always useful for last minute gifts also.
I've stamped some snowflaces and used a Moo for the first time to fit the actual challenge at Moo - Mania.

Have a happy fourth sunday of advent

Santa's Vehicle

Hi crafters (:o) Maybe you've already noticed, Santa's coming to Germany by train this year because the lacking snow. This is my contribution for SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge:

Santa's new or pimped up vehicle

As you can see, Santa had to made a quick decision about changing his vehicle and he breath some magic into an old train.

Santa's High Tech Navigation System

Psssssttt.....
The magic about this train is called corrugated cardboard, toilet paper rolls, tissue paper, diluted white glue, DecoArt Texture Sand, DecoArt Acrylic Paint,  TENseconds Studio VerDay Paint, Popcycle sticks, Powertex Venetian Plaster Mask and hot glue

Do you believe in magic?

This boot is made.......

....for the final *Stamp Out 2013* challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.

Nothing spectacular apart from noticing that it's hand drawn and handcut (:o)
I know there are a lot better card stampers out there than me, but i had to join the last challenge for this year
 Hope you like it anyway♥

Something Festive

Hello and happy monday, dear crafty friends (:o) Long time no creation for Crafty Individuals. I'm going to change this today, because me hit an idea for the current challenge: Something festive  for december

Supplies: 3 Doilys, Speciality Stamping Paper, Distress Inks, Staz On, Stamps, Felt Pens, Perfect Medium Brush, Utee,  Glue, Mod Podge, Distress Glitter, Stickles, Yarn, Halfpearls, leftover piece of organca and some ribbon

Cut a circle of cardboard in diameter of the middle section of the doily

Use distress inks....

on both sides on all 3 doily edges

Stack on to each other and crease the middle

Use yarn and sew all 3 doilys together on the middle line

Leave a bit yarn on both sides for the hanging section

Cut 6 circles from specialty stamping paper...

..and start stamping.

Amongst other's, i used CI-353, CI-156, CI-363, CI-366

Some examples

As you can see in the picture below, i've also coloured some images with felt pens. Used a perfect medium brush on top to heat emboss with utee.

Accordingly use distress ink on top

Embellish with stickles and glue all circles to the doilys

Use Mod Podge on the edges of the doilys and sprinkle on some distress glitter. The Mod Podge makes the edges of the doilys more firm...

Trace a ballerina on stamping paper and cut out. Use stickles on the edges and create a little tutu. I also used halfpearls and glued to the yarn.

Well, this is a festive variation and i'm in the blue mood this year but you can also make it vintage for a hole year occasion.
It wasn't that easy to take good pictures with missing daylight. Here you see my construction

Hope you like it and maybe you give it a try.
