Well.....i have a big box with a lot scraps of embossed cardstock from other projects and i had the idea to use them for this weeks challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show: Something Messy
Actually i'm taking another Dry - Time - Out from my PEZ Dispenser Transforming. I have to use a lot Apoxie Clay and that stuff has a drytime of 24 hours. It's a slow work progress even more i'm not the best artist in sculpting. This is absolutly out of my comfort zone. A sample...?
A face on old keys.....
They look a little bit better with paint (:o)
And now up to the pictures, how i made this shadow box
Cut a frame from cardboard
Used strong glue and glued pieces of embossed cardstock on frame, overlapping a bit
Gears, pearls, magic mash and diecuts from LaBlanche speciality stampingpaper are glued on with Glossy Accents
It's hard to see, but i used dark brown paint first
A light brush with silver paint and drybrushing with white paint
Some accents with turqoise and a lot washes with Quinacridone Gold
Cutting a big box in half and....
...pushed together for a smaller size
Painted the inside with turqoise and a wash of Q - Gold
Applyed broken china distress ink to LaBlanche speciality stamping paper
LaBlanche Stamp and black archival ink
Gloss Gel Medium and a stencil
Finished with a wash of Q - Gold and glued the paper into the box
The heart with wings is made of plaster
A beautiful Valentine Shadow Box, don't you think?
Thanks as always for your very appreciated comments and a big Hello to my new followers.
Happy Valentines Day!!

A great shadow box, the steampunk valentine is great.
The step by step of how you made it is very clear.
Great job.
Elly...YOU never cease to amaze me with your creativity and how you repurpose stuff! I mean...you took a simple box and turned it into a real work of art! I so love this! Love your Andy Skinner techniques to age and make the cardstock look metallic! Love your patina masks. They are too cool! In fact, each of the panels that you've embossed and added to this are exceptionally cool! LOVE IT ALL! Thanks for sharing your always wonderful art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy

How cool is this?? I love that you have made your own box, I am so lazy when it comes to that sort of thing, the end result is awesome so much texture and richness of colour. xx
I would never have imagined what lies beneath. A beautiful piece. I love the texture the gel medium and a stencil brings.
Meine Güte, Elly - wie genial ist das denn? Eine wunderschöne Valentins-Shadow-Box ist das! Total genial, kann ich nur sagen.
Wünsche Dir noch ein schönes, restliches WE.
Wow Elly!!! You totally made my day with your comment left about my steam punk balloon! Thank you so so much. As you know, I am such a fan of your art. So your comment really means a lot to me. I can only imagine what you're hot air balloon made from a Styrofoam ball would look like! It would put mine to shame. Love, Candy
